Semarang, August 23, 2023 — Research is a strong foundation for realizing the ambitious vision of the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University (FK UNDIP) in 2023. FK UNDIP is committed to becoming a center of excellence in research-based medicine and health. To achieve this vision, the Faculty of Medicine held a research meeting on August 23, 2023, with clusters of molecular and neuroscience, 2 of 12 FK UNDIP flagship research, as the main materials.
This event was organized by the Research, Community Service and Publication Unit (UP3) FK UNDIP, which acts as the main driver in advancing research activities. This research meeting was part of a series of routine UP3 activities designed to foster a productive and sustainable research environment.
The main aim of this research meeting was to increase the quality of research at FK UNDIP and to make the research deeper. Apart from that, this event also aimed to be a forum for dissemination of research results as well as a platform for discussions between lecturers and researchers. Collaboration between research clusters was also enhanced through this forum.
This research meeting focused on two main clusters, namely molecular genetics and neuroscience. This event will be held every two months and will be a means for academics to share and learn from each other.
In the molecular genetics cluster, the research topics raised relate to community genetics and behavior associated with genetic diseases and mendelian disorders.
Meanwhile, in the neuroscience cluster, there were five research topics raised, namely neurooncology, epilepsy, stroke and neurovascular disorders, spine and peripheral nerve problems, also neuropsychiatry. These topics covered various aspects relevant to nervous system health and make important contributions to the development of medical science.
By conducting regular research meetings and focusing on certain research clusters, FK UNDIP shows its commitment in making research as the main foundation to achieve its prestigious vision. By developing synergy between lecturers, researchers and health practitioners, FK UNDIP hopes to continue to contribute to advancing medical and health sciences globally.
