SEMARANG – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro (FK UNDIP) continues to expand access to quality education for high-achieving students from diverse backgrounds. One of them is Aqila Keisha Haulina, a santri from Kudus who was admitted to the Dentistry Study Program at FK UNDIP through the National Achievement-Based Selection (SNBP) and is also a recipient of the 2026 Scholarship Program for Santri and Islamic Boarding School Caregivers from the Central Java Provincial Government.
For Aqila, becoming a student at FK UNDIP marks the first step toward fulfilling her dream of becoming a dentist. Her aspiration began to take shape when she was in her final year of senior high school, encouraged by the support of her parents, who had long hoped that their daughter would pursue a career in medicine.
Although she initially aspired to enroll in the Medicine Study Program, Aqila was ultimately admitted to the Dentistry Study Program at FK UNDIP through the SNBP pathway. She believes that every step in her journey has been part of the best path toward achieving her dream of becoming a professional and dedicated healthcare practitioner.
According to Aqila, choosing FK UNDIP was the right decision, given Universitas Diponegoro’s reputation as one of Indonesia’s leading universities. She believes that the academic environment, quality of education, and various opportunities for personal and professional development available at FK UNDIP will provide valuable foundations for her future career.
“UNDIP provides an excellent quality of education. I hope to grow and gain many opportunities during my studies here,” she said.
In addition to being admitted to FK UNDIP, Aqila received the Scholarship for Santri and Islamic Boarding School Caregivers from the Central Java Provincial Government. For her, the scholarship is particularly meaningful because it helps ease the financial burden of her education on her family.
She explained that both of her parents work as traders and still have to support the education of their other children. Therefore, the scholarship provides tangible support, allowing her to focus on her studies without placing an additional financial burden on her family.
“This scholarship has been very helpful, especially in covering the tuition fees. I am grateful that I can also help ease the burden on my parents,” she said.
As a new student, Aqila said she was impressed by the academic atmosphere at FK UNDIP. The educational facilities, learning environment, and academic system have strengthened her confidence that she is in the right place to develop her potential.
“I was very impressed when I first entered FK UNDIP. The facilities and learning process are excellent and provide strong support for students to develop,” she said.
More than simply being a university student, Aqila views her status as a scholarship recipient and santri as a responsibility to continue achieving excellence. She hopes to demonstrate that santri have equal opportunities to pursue higher education in medicine and contribute to society.
In her view, the religious knowledge acquired by santri can serve as an added value in developing the character of a doctor who is not only academically competent but also demonstrates empathy, social awareness, and integrity in providing care to patients.
“I want to become a dedicated dentist who can provide the best possible care, listen to every patient’s concerns, and make a meaningful contribution to society,” she said.
