Jepara, October 28, 2023 – The Faculty of Medicine family performed a spectacular community service in Teluk Awur Village Hall in Tahunan District, Jepara Regency. Dr. Dwi Ngestiningsih, M.Kes., Sp.PD.K-Ger., FINASIM, addressed the celebration from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine with great excitement on October 28th, 2023.
This service activity is part of the Faculty of Medicine’s efforts to improve Indonesian people’s health. This sequence of service activities includes vital health checks such as blood sugar testing, blood pressure readings, and toxoplasma testing. Local communities are also given the chance to consult on health issues that they are experiencing.
The event was a huge success, with community involvement far beyond the committee’s expectations. Many inhabitants from the village and adjacent regions came to participate in health screenings and obtain vital health information. This demonstrates that this type of activity is both required and enjoyed by the local community.
Dr. Dwi Ngestiningsih, M.Kes., Sp.PD.K-Ger., FINASIM. expressed his hope that this type of work will continue and give significant advantages to the Indonesian people in the future. It is believed that via frequent health exams and counseling, people would become more conscious of the necessity of preserving their health.
This type of community service is a clear example of partnership between educational institutions and the community to enhance communal health and wellbeing. Hopefully, this type of action will continue to assist the Indonesian people and serve as an example for similar initiatives worldwide.
