Semarang, February 21, 2025 – Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University (FK Undip) has once again demonstrated its commitment to enriching medical education insights and innovations through knowledge exchange activities. On Friday, February 21, 2025, FK Undip hosted a Guest Lecture attended by lecturers from Kagoshima University, who presented in-depth perspectives in the fields of epidemiology and preventive medicine.

This activities which took place in the FK Undip Multipurpose Room were held at 13.30–15.00 WIB and raised the topic:
- “Extending Healthy Life Expectancy: Insights Into Metabolic Syndrome and Cancer Prevention in Japan”
Guest Lecture was delivered by Dr. Shiroh Tanoue, MD, Ph.D, a leading expert and lecturer from the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Kagoshima University. In his presentation, Dr. Tanoue discussed strategies for cancer prevention and management of metabolic syndrome that have been implemented in the Japanese community, as well as their implications for efforts to extend healthy life expectancy.
Goals and Expectations
This activity is expected to open an interdisciplinary dialogue between academics and health practitioners in Indonesia and Japan, as well as provide new inspiration in the development of innovation in the field of family medicine. FK Undip is committed to continuing to expand international cooperation to improve the quality of education and health services.
Conclusion
With the holding of this Guest Lecture from Kagoshima University, FK Undip further emphasizes its active role in facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the health sector. It is hoped that similar activities will continue to be encouraged to strengthen synergy between institutions in order to achieve optimal public health.
