SEMARANG – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro (FK Undip), in collaboration with Rumah Sakit Nasional Diponegoro (RSND), organized the Hospital Study Orientation and Management Program (POSMARS) for participants of the Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS), Subspecialist Medical Education Program (PPDSS), and Fellowship Program from July 7–14, 2026. During its inaugural implementation this year, 11 participants—including six PPDS Urology residents and five PPDSS Clinical Pathology residents—undertook the orientation as their first step before commencing clinical training at FK Undip’s primary teaching hospital.
POSMARS serves as a key preparatory program for residents before they begin their clinical education at FK Undip’s primary teaching hospital. Throughout the week-long program, participants received comprehensive training on hospital governance, patient safety culture, professionalism, ethics, interprofessional communication, anti-bullying measures, infection prevention and control, as well as resident mental health, equipping them to deliver high-quality healthcare services.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. dr. Yan Wisnu Prajoko, M.Kes., Sp.B., Subsp.Onk(K); RSND Director of Medical and Nursing Services, dr. Cahyo Kusumo Wijoyo, M.M.; RSND Director of Human Resources, Dr. dr. Meita Hendrianingtyas, Sp.PK(K)., M.Si.Med.; dr. Galuh Hardaningsih, M.Si.Med., Sp.A.; and dr. Mochamad Ali Sobirin, Ph.D., Sp.JP., FIHA. During the event, dr. Cahyo presented RSND’s strategic priorities and the future direction of its healthcare service development as a teaching hospital.
In his remarks, Dean of FK Undip Prof. Yan Wisnu Prajoko emphasized RSND’s strategic role as the primary teaching hospital, providing an essential clinical learning environment for PPDS and PPDSS students to develop their competencies comprehensively. He also noted that FK Undip continues to expand its specialist and subspecialist education programs to address Indonesia’s growing healthcare needs.
“The primary teaching hospital is where students develop comprehensive clinical competencies. Therefore, let us work together to build study programs that we can all take pride in. Care for one another, set aside personal interests, and foster a spirit of solidarity throughout your training, because the relationships you build during residency will become invaluable assets throughout your professional careers,” said Prof. Yan on Monday (July 7, 2026).
He also expressed appreciation to the PPDS Urology residents for their contributions from the outset in supporting preparations for the establishment of the study program, including their involvement during the minimum accreditation visitation process. According to him, this collaborative spirit serves as a strong foundation for cultivating an excellent academic culture at FK Undip while strengthening educational networks, including opportunities for international collaboration in the field of urology.

Meanwhile, RSND Director of Medical and Nursing Services, dr. Cahyo Kusumo Wijoyo, emphasized that RSND continues to expand its centers of excellence and increase the volume of clinical cases as part of strengthening its role as a teaching hospital. According to him, the presence of residents is integral to improving the quality of healthcare services while supporting the institution’s continued development.
“We continue to establish strategic partnerships and develop centers of excellence, including in digestive medicine and urological surgery. We encourage all residents to actively contribute to hospital services, never hesitate to provide constructive feedback, and always remember that every patient entrusted to your care is a responsibility that must be carried out with accountability,” said dr. Cahyo.
Through POSMARS, FK Undip and RSND expect all participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the organizational culture and governance of a teaching hospital while upholding professionalism and patient safety throughout every stage of their education and clinical practice. The orientation program also marks the beginning of their journey toward becoming competent, ethical, and adaptable specialist and subspecialist physicians who will make meaningful contributions to improving the quality of healthcare services across Indonesia.
