Faculty of Medicine Universitas Diponegoro Welcomes Hundreds of SMA Khadijah Surabaya Students to Explore the World of Health Education

SEMARANG – The Faculty of Medicine Universitas Diponegoro (FK Undip) welcomed an educational visit from hundreds of students of SMA Khadijah Surabaya as part of an introduction to various academic programs on Wednesday (May 20, 2026) at the FK Undip Tembalang Campus, Semarang. The activity aimed to provide students with insights into health higher education, career prospects, and the learning system within FK Undip.

The event featured lecturers from several study programs at FK Undip, including Ahmad Syauqy, S.Gz., M.P.H., Ph.D. from the Nutrition Study Program; Dr. Ns. Meira Erawati, S.Kep., M.Si.Med from the Nursing Study Program; Desy Armalina, M.Si.Med., AHK(K) from the Medical Study Program; and Fitri Wulandari, M.Clin.Pharm., Apt. from the Pharmacy Study Program.

During the session, students received presentations on the Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Nutrition study programs, including educational pathways, opportunities for further study, and career prospects at both national and international levels.

In addition to academic introductions, the students were also introduced to FK Undip’s international programs, such as student exchange initiatives and overseas collaborations. FK Undip students have reportedly participated in learning programs in Thailand, Greece, and Malaysia.

During the Medical Study Program session, Desy Armalina explained that medical students undergo four years of undergraduate education before continuing to the professional clinical stage, commonly known as medical clerkship, at teaching hospitals.

Meanwhile, Meira Erawati outlined career opportunities for nursing graduates, emphasizing that they are not limited to hospital employment but also have opportunities to establish independent practices and pursue advanced education programs.

From the pharmacy field, Fitri Wulandari explained that Pharmacy students at FK Undip are equipped with competencies in drug development, natural product research, and practical experience in national and multinational pharmaceutical industries.

Ahmad Syauqy also introduced the Nutrition Study Program, which covers clinical dietetics, healthy food technology, food service management, and community nutrition.

The activity was conducted interactively through a question-and-answer session between students and lecturers. The students enthusiastically asked about the block learning system, opportunities for overseas study, and career prospects for graduates in the health sector.

Through this activity, Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Diponegoro hopes students can gain a clearer understanding of health education while also becoming motivated to prepare for higher education studies. (Humas FK Undip/erman)
