SEMARANG – The Faculty of Medicine Universitas Diponegoro (FK Undip) continues to strengthen the implementation of the Healthy Campus Program through a webinar titled “Protect Yourself, Know Your Status to Prevent HIV Transmission in the Community,” held online via Zoom on Saturday (25/7). The activity was part of FK Undip’s efforts to improve health literacy among the academic community and the public regarding HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) prevention, the importance of early detection, and the elimination of stigma against People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
The webinar featured collaboration between FK Universitas Diponegoro, Rumah Sakit Nasional Diponegoro (RSND), and the Semarang City Health Office in delivering evidence-based health education. This synergy reflected a shared commitment to strengthening promotive and preventive efforts to reduce HIV transmission in the community.
Dr. dr. Nur Farhanah, M.Si.Med., Sp.PD-KPTI, a lecturer from the Internal Medicine Subspecialty Study Program at FK Undip, served as the speaker. Meanwhile, RSND, as a teaching hospital, contributed by presenting dr. Setyo Gundi Pramudo, Sp.PD, as the moderator. In her presentation, Dr. dr. Nur Farhanah explained that knowing one’s HIV status is an important first step in preventing transmission, as early detection enables individuals to receive appropriate treatment while reducing the risk of transmitting the virus to others. The discussion session, moderated by dr. Setyo Gundi Pramudo, ran interactively and provided participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding of HIV prevention and management.
The webinar also featured the Head of the Semarang City Health Office, Dr. dr. Mochamad Abdul Hakam, Sp.PD, FINASIM, who presented strategies for HIV control through public health policies and programs in Semarang City.
Through this activity, FK Universitas Diponegoro reaffirmed its commitment to building a healthy lifestyle culture within the campus environment through continuous education. The Healthy Campus Program focuses not only on improving physical health but also on creating an inclusive academic environment free from stigma while supporting access to accurate and reliable health information.
FK Universitas Diponegoro hopes that collaboration with RSND and various stakeholders will continue to expand the reach of health education for the community. By increasing awareness of HIV prevention and the importance of HIV status testing, more individuals are expected to be encouraged to maintain their health and contribute to breaking the chain of HIV transmission in society.
