SEMARANG – Faculty of Medicine Universitas Diponegoro welcomed an educational visit from 11th-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Jombang. The activity aimed to introduce students to higher education and the wide range of career opportunities in the healthcare sector, including medicine, pharmacy, and nursing.
During the session, lecturers from FK Undip explained the unique characteristics of each study program. The Pharmacy Study Program highlighted drug development processes, from research to therapy, as well as promising professional pathways for pharmacists in both industrial and clinical settings.
“Pharmacy students learn the entire process of drug development, from research to its application in therapy,” said Eva Annisaa, S.Farm., M.Sc., Apt., a lecturer from the Pharmacy Study Program at FK Undip.
Meanwhile, the Undergraduate Nursing Study Program emphasized early clinical practice and opportunities for international exposure through student exchange programs abroad. Lecturers from the Undergraduate Medical Study Program also explained the long educational journey required to become a doctor, starting from undergraduate studies, clinical clerkship, and internship. Beyond academic excellence, FK Undip lecturers stressed that future healthcare professionals must also uphold strong integrity.

“Healthcare professionals must possess honesty, empathy, and compassion, as their work is directly related to patient safety,” emphasized dr. Ryan Halleyantoro, M.Biomed., Sp.Par.K, a lecturer in the Undergraduate Medical Study Program at Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Diponegoro.
Enthusiasm peaked during an interactive discussion session presented in a light talk-show format. The lecturers not only explained the curriculum but also conducted a “career exploration” session to challenge the misconception that healthcare graduates can only work in hospitals.
Students were also introduced to various admission pathways to Universitas Diponegoro, including achievement-based admission, national entrance examinations, outstanding talent pathways, and the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). Through clinical simulations and interactive discussions, FK Undip hopes to inspire younger generations to become highly qualified healthcare professionals in the future.
