Tuesday, January 25, 2023. Farmasi Muhammadiyah Cirebon Vocational School sends 127 students and 10 lecturers to the UNDIP Faculty of Medicine. This visit was intended to pique their students’ interest in studying at the UNDIP Faculty of Medicine. The event began with an opening speech from the school’s deputy head of facilities and infrastructure. He stated, “Our school has a goal called BMW, Bekerja Melanjutkan Wirausaha (work to continue entrepreneurship). This visit was to complete M objective (continue), and all of you (students) must be familiar with the world of university from UNDIP.”

Dr. Khairul Anam, S.Si., M.Si., representing the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, gave the next opening speech. He stated in his speech that the pharmacy study program is the youngest in the Faculty of Medicine. “Now, its been 8 years and there was 3 generation before that have been graduated and works at industry sector, profession, and ministry. There are also those who continue their education at a prestigious university. It demonstrates that the Pharmacy Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, UNDIP, is of high quality and can compete with others,” he said. Dr. Anam also stated that the animo is increasing over time, with the ratio level of competition currently at 1:50. “Later, all students from Farmasi Muhammadiyah Cirebon Vocational School will be able to visit our pharmacy laboratorium.” Dr. Anam said.

The first question in the Q&A session was about tips and tricks for becoming a student in a Pharmacy study program. Dr. Anam advises students to participate in class by not only reading but also writing so that the knowledge they acquire grows. The following question concerned the method used by the Pharmacy study program to produce good and competent alumni. We learn several skills (especially basic skills) so that our students can use them as an asset when they continue to work. We also have the BBDM learning method (Learning by case – the case made as close as possible with the real case). Last but not least, we have practicum courses to help our students improve their skills (there are 17 practicum subjects from 60 subjects in total).
